Child’s Age: 3

1. Are you staying at home because of someone else’s pressure?

2. What was something about being a stay at home dad that surprised you?
I was very worried before about the money aspect of it, but now I find I just don’t care about getting into debt. Maybe that’s something I will worry about in the future.

3. What is the hardest part?
Not having a break, being on duty 24/7.

4. What is your favorite part?
Sharing laughs and smiles with my boy.

5. What is the biggest thing you’ve learned about yourself?
I need to take breaks and do things for myself or else I lose it.

6. Do you ever regret this decision? {Please explain your answer.}
I would never regret this decision. I was in a job that wasn’t the best for me anyway and it was time for a change.

7. Do you feel satisfied with this decision in general?

8. How has your relationship with your partner changed, if at all, from this arrangement?
I think he does feel the stress of being the breadwinner but on the other hand, it’s nice to have a PA to run around and do things for him too.

9. Do you sometimes feel resentment towards your working partner?

10. Do you have an equal say in financial decisions?
It depends, I suppose I do, on the important things, but we don’t give each other a hard time about how we spend our money.

11. Do you take care of all the household commitments or are they shared with your partner?
It’s pretty much me.

12. Do you think that only moms should be stay-at-home parents?
No! I’m all for stay at home dads.

13. What are your views on men that demand their partners to stay at home?
It should be a choice. Some women function better if they work.

14. What advice can you give other moms considering staying at home?
You won’t regret it. Just make sure that you join a mom’s group and do things for yourself to keep sane. You need adult company too.
